Press Release: NEW LAW VS DRUNK DRIVING IN FOCUS AT JULY 25 USAPAN AAP
The new law penalizing drunk driving will be in focus at Usapan AAP, the monthly media forum of the Automobile Association Philippines, on Thursday, July 25.
The government officials drafting the implementing rules and regulations (IRR) of Republic Act 10586, the Act Penalizing Persons Driving under the Influence of Alcohol, Dangerous Drugs and Other Similar Substances are scheduled to speak as panelists at Usapan AAP together with experts from the University of the Philippines, Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) and World Health Organization (WHO).
AAP Vice President Johnny Angeles, who chairs the AAP Road Safety Committee, announced that Dr. Franklin Diza, Department of Health (DOH) National Center for Disease Prevention program director; Dr. Orlando Ocampo, UP-PGH Trauma Center head and Dr. John Juliard Go, WHO National Professor-Officer for Non-Communicable Diseases, have confirmed their participation. Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Undersecretary Julianito Bucayan and National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) Vice Chairman Eduardo Escueta, who together with Dr. Diza of DOH are members of the IRR committee, are attending the forum or sending their representatives.
Usapan AAP is an interactive media forum emceed by journalist Cito Beltran where government and private sector leaders active in motoring, road safety and the automotive industry are invited to meet and have brunch with the news media and AAP members.
