EMERGENCY ROADSIDE SERVICE


What is Emergency Roadside Service (ERS)?

ERS is the assistance that AAP provides to members 24 hours a day, seven days a week (24/7). Examples of the services rendered are:
• Jump start "dead" battery service
• Flat tire change; use of tools and equipment (wrenches, jack)
• Provision of fuel
• Towing

 

How much do we have to pay for ERS?

ERS interventions are FREE OF CHARGE to AAP members within the club's service areas, as shown in the chart below.

If the member exceeds his entitled interventions within his membership year, there will be corresponding charges. In excess, members will be charged P1,000.00 mobilization fee plus P75.00 per kilometer in excess of the towing distance entitlement.

 

Where are AAP's service areas and are there limits and/or boundaries?

AAP provides ERS anywhere within the boundaries of Metro Manila, Metro Davao, Metro Cebu, and along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) Skyway and ground level expressway from Magallanes to Alabang and the South Luzon Expressway from Alabang to Sto. Tomas, Batangas as well as within a 25-kilometer radius from AAP offices..

 

What if the member experiences a breakdown outside of AAP's service areas, can he still be rescued?

Yes, however, beyond the defined service area limits ,the distance travelled by of our service vehicle will be charged against the members' entitlement or will have to be paid for, commensurate to a tow, reckoned from the service area boundary.

 

How is the number of kilometers to be deducted from members' entitlement reckoned?

Within the service area, only the actual tow distance is deducted. Once the service vehicle leaves the boundaries of the service area, the distance until the end of the tow, or until the service vehicle's return to the service area, will be counted.

 

If a member has used up all his intervention entitlements but has not consumed any of his towing entitlements, can he still avail of the free towing service?

No. He has to pay the towing fee according to the tow distance within the service area or from the service area departure of the service vehicle to the tow destination, and back to (if not within) the service area origin of the service vehicle.

 

If a member used all his towing distance entitlements in his first ERS intervention request, is he still entitled to free additional non-towing interventions?

No. The free ERS is void once the towing distance entitlement is used up. Again, the entitlement is for the allowed number of ERS interventions or allowed kilometer towing distance, whichever comes first. However, you can still request for extra ERS non-towing intervention with corresponding charges.

 

If someone else is driving the member's registered car, may the driver call for assistance?

Yes, as long as the vehicle is registered in AAP's records and registered in the member's name.

 

If the member is not driving the car listed under his membership, may he call for assistance?

Yes, as long as he is actually present at the site of the intervention.

 

How do members call for ERS?

First ensure that your vehicle is safely out of the way. Call the AAP HOTLINE 723.0808. Please give the operator the following information:
• Your name
• AAP membership number
• Model, color and make of your vehicle
• License plate number of your vehicle
• Exact location where your vehicle is stalled any landmark nearby
• Access restrictions or limitations (e.g. basement parking or multi-level parking, in which case you may have to ask for assistance from the building staff first.)
• Location where your vehicle is to be towed
• Describe what you think is the problem of your vehicle

 

How soon does the ERS crew arrive after a call?

All calls are treated as urgent and if weather and traffic conditions permit, service vehicles in the Metro Manila area should be at the site in 30 to 40 minutes: the average on the expressways and in low traffic areas is 20 minutes.
