Brief Introduction of ERS AAP takes pride in offering its members its 24-hour Emergency Roadside Service or ERS. With its fleet of state-of-the-art tow trucks, flat bed car carriers, and quick response motorcycle units in operation, ERS is available to all AAP members in Metro Manila, Metro Cebu, and Davao City. If your vehicle does not need to be towed or carried, AAP`s ERS crew can also do basic troubleshooting such as battery charging/ jumpstarting, flat tire change, and others, to get you on the move again. AAP`s Emergency Roadside Service is manned by technically-skilled, dedicated, and customer-oriented personnel composed of: - ERS drivers and helpers - Quick Response Unit (motorcylce- or light-vehicle-riding rescue team) - ERS Helpdesk Coordinators (inbound call center) Towing Service Towing is undoubtedly the most popular service offered by AAP to its members. Most car-owning members joined AAP for the towing entitlements enjoyed by AAP members. AAP is known to own and operate the most sophisticated and technologically-advanced fleet of tow trucks and flat bed car carriers in the country. Although generally referred to simply as "towing," this service is actually more than towing. Depending on the condition of the vehicle to be rescued as well as the situation it is in (i.e. position relative to the road and other vehicles), AAP dispatches the appropriate truck. The versatile tow trucks, also often referred to as "wreckers," are used for a variety of rescue operations because of their flexibility and wide range of equipment available. AAP tow trucks became popular because of their ability to "recover" vehicles in the most difficult situations. The self-loading flat bed car carriers, on the other hand, are the favorite of luxury car owners because of their ability to safely load and carry cars. Flat Tire Change Flat tires are among the most common reasons AAP members call for help. If you happen to experience a flat tire while driving your car, the first thing that you should do is to bring your car (even on flat tires!) to the nearest safe place, preferably a gas station or a well-lit place with substantial traffic of people and well clear from vehicular traffic. Confident that you are in a safe place you may then call the AAP hotline to request for rescue. We usually dispatch a Quick Response Team (on motorcycle or light vehicle) to reach you faster. You may also request for assistance if your car has a flat tire while parked in your house`s garage or in a public parking area. Please make sure you give the details of your location, including information on access restrictions or limitations (e.g. basement parking or multi-level parking, in which case you may have to ask for assistance from the building staff first, since our tow trucks cannot possibly enter. Once your car is in a place easily accessible by our tow trucks, just call the ERS team on duty to transport your car to any place you prefer) so we can send the right equipment and crew. Dead Battery Service Like flat tires, this is also a commonly requested assistance by AAP members, usually while the members` cars are parked in their houses or in public parking areas. AAP`s Quick Response Team is ideal for this type of request. Since a tow truck is not really necessary, we usually send a crew on motorcycle or light vehicle with our portable battery jump-starting set. Although a dead battery may simply be the result of an electricity drain (e.g. headlights left on for a prolonged period), in most cases it may already be an indication that your car`s battery is near its end-of-life. It is even possible that your car`s battery has already reached its end-of-life. After our ERS crew has jump-started your battery, you can be on your way. Some words of caution though: (1) If your battery is already near its end-of-life, or is in fact already on its end-of-life, your car won`t start again the next time you attempt to turn the engine on. If you suspect that this is the case with your battery, make sure NOT TO TURN OFF your engine until you have reached your house or your final destination. (2) If you suspect an abnormal battery drain, DO NOT turn on your car`s accessories that require electrical power, including your car air conditioner. (3) Have your battery checked immediately. Replace it with a new unit if necessary. Good news to AAP members! AAP now has its own line of car batteries. Powered by Outlast, the 2-year warranty AAP battery promises big savings and can be purchased at the Main office located at 683 Aurora Blvd. Q.C. or through delivery -free of charge as well as the installation service ,exclusively for AAP members only.
Provision of Fuel In case your car runs out of fuel, whether while on the road or parked in your house or in a parking lot somewhere in Metro Manila, our Emergency Roadside Service (ERS) can bring you fuel enough to allow you to go to the nearest gasoline station for a refill. Please take note that although the service itself (i.e. bringing you fuel) is FREE as part of your ERS entitlement, the cost of the fuel that we will bring to you is not. You will have to pay AT COST the corresponding quantity used. Home Start AAP members may request for any of the emergency roadside services even if their cars are in the safety of their homes. Home Start is usually requested for dead batteries, flat tires, and even towing/transport to a repair shop. Please take note, however, that since a Home Start is strictly NOT an emergency, priority will be given to requests coming from members who are on roadside emergency situations. Home Starts are usually scheduled.
